Kairos 2014’s fine art competitions opened with the face painting competition on Friday 28th February. The competition saw participation from five teams who were judged on their aesthetic appeal, motive, explanation behind the design, and originality. According to NLUD student Aditya Raj, most of the teams drew inspiration from the dichotomy between good and evil and light and dark. The team from Jindal Global Law School, which won the competition, was adjudged as having the most original and well thought out design, with a depiction of the bad seeping into the good. The Institute of Technology and Management University placed second, with the judges commenting that they had a very aesthetically appealing design. It seems to be a promising start to Kairos 2014.
